Measurement for Dress Pants

To start a measurement is recommended to wear a pants that fit well in you and be assisted by a partner. If you do not have a partner, you may measure a pants directly. You should empty your pocket and stand straight. There are 7 parts required to be measured. which are Waistband, Crotch, Pants length, Leg Opening, Knee, Thigh and Hip.
What will you need :
A fabric measuring tape
Assistance from a friend or partner
A well fitted shirt and a pair of pants
When taking measurements:
Always keep the measuring tape comfortably snug, but not too tight.

WAISTBAND
Put the measuring tape around your waist at the height where you would wear your pants. It normally right above where your belt is.
The measurement will be 5cm or 2″ more than off-the rack pants that you usually wear.

Run the measuring tape from the back top waistband to the front top waistband.

Make sure you are standing straight and tape is tight while doing measurement.
Run the measuring tape from the top of waistband all along the side pant seam until the bottom of your pants or 1 inch from the ground.

Put the measuring tape around your knee at the widest point.

Put the measuring tape around the fullest part of your hips or buttocks.
Make sure the tape is straight at all times.
